Philip joined the firm in 2001. He was first admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1977.

Prior to joining Smith Hancock, Philip gained considerable insolvency experience with a large insolvency specialist chartered accountancy firm, and worked in the small business advisory area of a Big 4 firm.
